With the scheduled release of Gears 5 in 2019 featuring Kait as the protagonist, we are looking forward to some wonderful stories. OK, this works if you disconnect your internet connection. Saves work just fine.
Remember to disable your internet before launching.
Right, can someone ACTUALLY confirm that this works and causes no errors?
Yes, it works perfectly, just make sure to block \Gears of War 4\AppFiles\GearGame\Binaries\UWP64\GearGame.exe in firewall, should take longer to load but no longer crash in menu at beginning

I am running Windows 10 v 1803 and just installed this today, and it crashed to desktop after some time in the start screen.
Disabled internet and it worked perfectly.
Then enabled internet and blocked the GearGame.exe file from this folder Gears of War 4\AppFiles\GearGame\Binaries\UWP64\
Now it works without disabling the internet.
so if you have to disable internet to play this, im assuming you cant do anything multiplayer wise. kinda only reason I want to play it lol
Only way to play online is to buy it.
